Aaliyah Dana Haughton exploded into the limelight in 1994 when she dropped her debut album Age Ain't Nothing More Than an number. She was only 15 at the time and the album was later renamed Gold. It was done as a collaboration that was highly influenced by R. Kelly and it brought her into the limelight. In 1996 Jermaine and Timbaland released Aaliyah's second album One In A Million. The album contained the single If You Girls Only Knew the most-sold single. Aaliyah gained international recognition for her work as an R&B performer with the release of her second album, One In A Million. In 2000, she appeared alongside the martial arts icon Jet Li in Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver spotted her in an award show. Queen of the Damned was her first film role in 2002. It's based on The Anne Rice novel. Then she was introduced to the Matrix with her role as Zee as Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also performed in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 as well as The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. Aarti Mann is the first generation Indian-American to be from Connecticut. The stage name Mann is an abbreviation for her marriage name Mankad. Aarti Magnumdar, her official name, but she has also used Aarti Magumdar. Although she began with tiny film and television performances, her acting began to gain momentum around the turn of the century. Other than The Big Bang Theory her other most acclaimed works include Leverage (2012) Suits (2013) as well as Grey's Anatomy (2017). She also appeared in several commercials, including Volvo and other major automobile brand names. Her daughter who lives in Los Angeles and is pursuing her acting.
