April Ross

April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball players who have won medals in multiple Olympics. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games is hoping to secure her third gold medal. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic Gold. Perhaps she has one chance at winning, as she's 39 old. But she's still convinced of winning top awards. Ross declared on NBC Boston: "If we try our best, and even If we play our best I'm sure we'll be able to win gold." "I'm planning to test some luck." Ross born August 22nd, 1982 at Costa Mesa California. She lived there with her family. Ross competed in many activities while at Newport Harbor High School. She played basketball and ran the track as well as her indoor volleyball exploits as a prep athlete. She was definitely the best in the game of indoor volleyball. The college bio says that she was an outside hitter, middle blocker, as well as a setter during her volleyball career during high school. As a tribute to her efforts she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. Additionally, in 2000, she was awarded the Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Ross has been playing alongside Klineman since the year 2017, but Ross's beach game had been established long before the year. In reality, she's won multiple big tournaments and one of them was a volleyball superstar. Ross teamed up together with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also was Klineman's personal trainer. Ross, the teammate of Kessy's, who was the winner of the world championship together with Kessy in 2009 was also significant on the international stage. The 2012 Olympic Games, they received the gold medal. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings the legendary team who was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, beat each other to take home the gold medal. It was fate that had them. Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. The pair went on to earn bronze in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross competed for USC Trojans during her college days, years before becoming a professional. Ross had an impressive run during her time in college. In her first year at the school, 2000 was when she won the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of award and become an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to make it to the Final Four with her help. She suffered a devastating personal loss during her sophomore year however she was able to return her place as an All-American. In her last two seasons in the program she led the Trojans to the summit by winning two successive national titles. The achievements of each individual have established her status as a legend in volleyball. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross majored at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross was not able to see Ross become the highest beach volleyball levels. Ross suffered the loss of the breast cancer that she battled in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. Her mother is still close to her heart. Margie is a constant source of inspiration to her, both in and out of the water.
